Two days to go!

The discussion post will go up on Saturday morning UK time - I'm not promising a fixed time, because it will depend on what time I wake up and get online.

Ahead of that - people who haven't seen Leverage before, what are you expecting the episode to be like? What are you expecting the show to be like? Or do you not have any expectations but just thought you'd give it a go?

People who have seen Leverage before, do you remember before you first watched the pilot episode? What made you decide to watch? Was it a trailer, the showrunner, one of the writers, one of the actors? Do you remember what you expected it to be like?

I'm pretty sure Leverage was a leaked pilot that appeared out of no where and I nabbed it based on the actors involved. I remember laughing my ass off at the idea of CK as the muscle, but he soon convinced me of Elliot's ability as a hitter. I was impressed and delighted by the pilot and eager for more. So, if the people behind the scenes were responsible for the leak (my conspiracy theory) it was a good move.

I am fairly certain the pilot is not the first episode I saw—I think that was one of the ones with Jeri Ryan? but I have definitely seen the pilot—and whichever I did watch first was on TNT near the Supernatural rerun I was actually tuning in for, but I'd seen enough fannish people excited over Leverage I wanted to see what they were excited about.

I watched Leverage for the first time about a month ago. I'd always thought it was a totally different kind of show but something I saw on Twitter convinced me to try it.

I think just one of those dark crime shows where women are treated badly - the kind of thing they railed against in the DVD commentary.

Yay, I'm excited!

I'm pretty sure my fandom family said I should watch it and I did. I knew CK from Angel and AH from Supernatural, but I don't think I started because of them.
It was one of many shows I watched at the time and I enjoyed it but it wasn't love at first sight. I only watch a couple of seasons the first time and then all the way through the second time. It really grew on me slowly, sneaking its way into my heart.

Yes, I totally blame you. And I blame you even more for watching it again this time. :p

Eleven years in a long way to go back :)

At that point I didn't know much about Dean Devlin, John Rogers or Chris Downey so they weren't the artractions - though I have watched shows all have been involved with since.

The big pull for me was Chris.

From the minute Lindsey McDonald sauntered on screen in Angel I knew I'd found my point of entry character and everything the writers did with him in the show and what Chris brought to the performance just pulled me in even more. Lindsey was also the Little Black Dress character of the show - you could put him with anyone and it would work. Writing fic for Angel was one of my most productive times!

So after a long gap I was antcipating CK's return to the small screen and I initially watched for Chris and what he brought to the role of Eliot (hello entry point character again - there may be a theme here with anything he's in - I'll let you know when the new show airs)!

Eliot's also a flexible character and you can pop him out of the Leverage verse and cross him over with other fandoms (SGA, Numb3rs, you name it - he's so easy to drop into anything else).

As the show progressed I really liked all the team though I really, really loved my OT3 - Eliot, Parker and Hardison.

What can I say - Lindsey Macdonald appeared on screen and I apparently became a CK fangirl for life *G*
